The International Yacht Brokers Association was created in 1987 to unite those engaged in the yacht brokerage business for the purpose of promoting professionalism and cooperation among its members; and to promote and maintain a high standard of conduct in the transacting of the yacht brokerage business. Each IYBA member is required to abide by a code of ethics to protect the public and the dignity and integrity of the yacht brokerage profession.

CYBA was established in 1982 with the concept of creating a support network for charter yacht brokers: establishing and maintaining a strict code of ethics; establishing a higher level of fiduciary responsibility and improving industry standards. CYBA members share the responsibility of continuing to foster and promote professionalism within the charter yacht industry.

This associative and non-profit organisation aims to develop the yachting industry economically, and defends the interests of yachting professionals through collaborating with public administrations, governments, and the EU, whilst permanently improving professionalism within the yachting industry.
