Bobby Bigio, Charter Broker

Bobby joined us from another brokerage where he delivered hundreds of successful and memorable yacht charters for his clients. We are excited to have him on board, and he brings with him not just huge experience but a genuine and long-standing passion for yachting.

Swimming before he could walk, Bobby grew up on/under the water in Southeast Asia where he developed a deep-rooted understanding of the ocean. After completing his BSc and Masters in the UK, he retreated to warmer waters where he worked on exclusive private islands and luxury superyachts. During his time yachting he rose through the ranks to the position of mate, and gained a wealth of destination knowledge and hands-on experience as he cruised in all corners of the globe.

Bobby now brings this impressive package of experience to TJB Superyachts where he goes above and beyond to ensure that all of his clients have the best charter experience imaginable.

Q&A

Here at TJB Super Yachts we are a young and dynamic team who each bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. By working together, we can always find a solution and I feel it’s that which sets up apart. We pool that experience and share it with each other, meaning we can give all of our clients the best choices and information. With 24/7 coverage too, we are always at the end of the phone to help.

I like helping people create memorable experiences with friends and loved ones. For busy people, a yacht charter is often the only time when the whole family can get together, and can be the highlight of the year for them. So it’s wonderful and very rewarding to be a part of such a special time for my clients.

With all the changes and restrictions to travel of the past year I am very proud of the fact that I am still managing to create incredible charter trips for my clients.  It has added a whole new dimension to booking a yacht charter, and myself and my colleagues have been creating safe charters for those who are able to travel. It hasn’t always been easy, but the results have been a resounding success.

This is a tough question. I’ve been fortunate enough to be part of world cruising programmes and have been able to explore places that don’t get their fair share of the limelight. I believe every destination has great things to offer, depending on what you’re looking to get out of your charter. Croatia and Greece are my favourite Mediterranean cruising grounds, with countless islands, bays and tavernas to enjoy. And there’s no better way to explore them than on your own private superyacht. Further afield, and as a scuba diver, Indonesia will always be close to my heart. Depending on the season, the Komodo Islands and Raja Ampat are truly spectacular places to cruise, with stunning horizons and incredible marine life.

I don’t have a single favourite yacht manufacturer as I believe they all hold a great place within their respective market segments. Having started my career on board a Feadship, I know first-hand the amazing quality of yachts that they are able to produce. Being part of the late stages of a new build highlighted this when you can find three generations of craftsmen working in the same room. I’m also incredibly excited to see the new Amels limited edition range hit the water. They look to be a perfect evolution of their predecessors.

To me, a yacht is all about the relationship with the water and the outside world. This translates into open decks for relaxing in the fresh sea air and a large swim platform with easy access to the water. As a water sports enthusiast, a good selection of tenders and toys would be a must for me too

I would always recommend chartering at least once (preferably more) before deciding to buy. It’s the only way to get a real feel, not just for the various sizes and styles on the market, but the layout, amenities and luxuries that are available, so that you can really know what works for your lifestyle.

I can hold my breath for over 4 minutes.
