Saskia is TJB’s Charter and Marketing Assistant. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and growing up in the British Virgin Islands has instilled Saskia’s passion for the yachting world. Her in-depth knowledge of the Caribbean yachting scene has given her an understanding of how the complexity and management of detail around large boats need to come together to create a successful charter, but also how selling a dream is interwoven with the success of a yacht brokerage.
A summer season in Newport, RI working at the New York Yacht club has broadened her understanding of the needs of clients. In addition, Saskia has travelled extensively helping to develop knowledge and connections all around the world. Completing a degree from the University of Bristol helped her home in on communication skills and her knowledge, drive and enthusiasm for the sector mean that she gives 100% in everything she does at TJB.
TJB is a boutique superyacht brokerage, who pride themselves on providing a high-quality service. The brokerage provides personalised experiences from start to finish and not only understands but appreciates that every client is unique and therefore no two clients should be treated the same.
From a young age I have been fascinated by the mega yacht world, and the fact that I now get to work in an industry and more importantly at a brokerage that evolves around people, travel and luxury is very exciting. My job allows me to follow my passion, whilst being surrounded by a hardworking enthusiastic team.
Firstly, I think there needs to be a great level of trust between brokers and their clients in order to ensure the process is stress free from start to finish, because at the end of the day it’s about creating amazing experiences. I do believe you want to have the perfect itinerary as location is everything, and lastly cool water toys to entertain family and friends.
I would have to say the Caribbean: the culture, people, and stunning beauty make this the best place to be. I know I am biased, but the British Virgin Islands really is the perfect tropical oasis for a superyacht charter!
I would have to say Perini Navi: they use innovative yacht design to produce beautiful, sleek yachts. They really are stunning.
An inflatable water slide is a must!
The importance of finding a broker you trust, who can help to make the process as seamless and stress free as possible. It is an exciting time, and it should be enjoyed and therefore finding someone who understands your hopes and visions will help make the process a lot more enjoyable.
I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and took my first flight at three days old to return to the BVI. Unfortunately whilst we were taxiing down the runway, the plane’s engine caught fire, so we were all escorted off very quickly and it was a short lived first flight!
