What a start to the season it has been! The team at TJB Super Yachts have been jetting off to this spring’s best yacht shows, from the MYBA Charter Show in Barcelona to Mediterranean Yacht Show in Nafplion, Greece. There we got the privilege to review some incredible new yachts on the charter market and meet their captains and crew. It was tough to choose our favourites, but here we bring you the team’s top 3 yachts from each show.

 MYBA CHARTER SHOW, BARCELONA

1. AIR – Ollie Cross

Walking onto the 50 metre Golden Bay series Benetti you are warmly welcomed by the professional crew lined up on the main deck aft. For a 1997 Benetti the 2017 refit is clear to see, with the decks and exterior kept to the highest of standards.

The large main deck aft sliding doors open fully and transport you to a cosy Hamptons-style summer beach house. Designer Terrance Disdale has found the perfect balance in the contemporary and cosy interior. It is simply beautiful, fresh, modern and elegant throughout. In fact, this is one of the finest yacht interiors I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

The saloon includes a large dining room table which can comfortably seat 12 guests for dinner parties or a relaxed night in with family and friends.

AIR easily accommodates twelve guests in seven cabins, all with en-suite bathrooms, a high standard AV entertainment system and High-Speed WIFI-System throughout the vessel – all of which is easily controlled and accessible through an App control System.

AIR is equipped with all the tenders and toys you could ever possibly need on your charter, from a water slide attached to the sundeck, jet skis, fly boards, Sea Bobs, inflatables, skis, and wakeboards for towing. The sundeck is furnished with a spa pool and an outdoor pop up television on the bridge deck aft for enjoying those movie nights under the stars.

AIR has had a new lease of life since her recent refit, truly cementing her as one of the top value and finest 50 metre superyachts on the charter market and my top choice for summer 2019.

2. CALYPSO – Steph Inskip

The 36 metre CALYPSO features an undeniably innovative and modern exterior by Mulder, with sleek lines and continuous windows creating a contemporary and flowing façade, paralleled in the interior spaces.

CALYPSO accommodates up to 10 guests in four spacious guest staterooms. Two guest cabins are convertible to either twin or double cabins, and feature an additional Pullman bed each.
The interior design of CALYPSO is simple yet stylish. A multitude of natural materials and neutral coloured soft furnishings reflect the abundance of natural light, encapsulating a feeling of beachy elegance and inducing a sense of luxury and relaxation.

The aft deck provides a perfect area for alfresco dining and entertaining, overlooking the spacious beach club. The sundeck even more so, with a fantastic seven-person Jacuzzi and ample sunbathing areas, as well as another comfortable dining area with 360-degree views.

With the professional, friendly and welcoming crew, I would highly recommend this yacht to clients.

3. LADY MICHELLE – Advait Deodhar

I was very impressed by LADY MICHELLE. We were welcomed on-board by the warm, friendly crew and were immediately made to feel comfortable. I’m personally a fan of the Benetti 180’ series and LADY MICHELLE is a wonderful example.

The yacht is simply lovely following an extensive interior and exterior refit, and we were informed that the owner allows a healthy budget to keep the yacht looking and running at its very best. As on all Benetti 180’s there is enormous interior volume and great exterior deck space and LADY MICHELLE is no exception.

The yacht is packed with an array of water sports and the active crew of 14 are experts in water sports instruction. LADY MICHELLE is the perfect yacht for families or groups of friends to unwind, enjoy adventures, and have a fun, action-packed charter.

I have full confidence in recommending this yacht to clients. The photos really don’t do it justice!

MEDYS, Nafplion, Greece

1. PATHOS – Josh Francis

I was really impressed with my tour of PATHOS at Nafplion this year. She is an incredibly popular charter option around the Greek waters and, after spending some time on board, it’s clear to see why.

Part of the hugely successful 131 range from Sunseeker, PATHOS’ exterior is really open and, with a great sundeck and Jacuzzi, is perfect for entertaining. There is an added forward seating area where guests can watch the sunset, and a large swim platform for the kids to play on. Two fold-down balconies on the main deck add to the impressive beamy feel of the yacht.

The interior crew clearly do a fantastic job keeping the yacht in top condition. The dark wood in the main salon and lower deck is elegant and immaculately kept, and the whole yacht has a relaxing, floral scent reminiscent of a spa. Adding to the spa atmosphere is the sauna in the master cabin – a really unique feature on a yacht of this size.

2. BLISS – Angus Cook

Like many Heesen yachts, BLISS impresses at first sight. She was built in 2007, but in 2019 has had a beautiful new refit, and is a wholly impressive yacht both in her interior and exterior.
Extremely fashionable and meticulously maintained, BLISS is beaming with natural light, allowing her style and prestige to shine through. Every inch of her 44 metre length is utilized to create the most comfortable and spacious living quarters achievable.

BLISS’s interior is a modern palette of black, white, silver and dark lavender, twinned with bold framed artwork. The lavish style makes you feel as though you’re immersed in a modern art gallery, yet does so without distancing you from the homely feel which she offers via her cushioned layout.

It is the upper lounge on the sundeck, however, which really steals the show as it’s able to convert into an additional cabin offering extra flexibility for a larger party of guests onboard.
All of her outdoor areas are plentiful in space and offer opportunity for entertainment, informal gatherings or pure relaxation as guests can look out to wide ocean views secure in the knowledge that they made the right choice for their yacht charter.

With her friendly crew, dutiful captain, six luxury cabins and oodles of style, you are sure to be most welcomed onboard BLISS.

3. SUNDAY – Charlie Bush

The yacht of the MEDY’s show for me was the 60 metre Benetti SUNDAY. She was built in 2006 and is in truly immaculate condition. With 2019 being her first year on the charter market she is certain to be popular, and with prices from €310,000 per week she offers excellent value for money.

Her roomy layout, spacious cabins and huge selection of toys makes SUNDAY an excellent charter yacht option. She is perfect both for families and for entertaining friends, and she has plenty of outdoor space with a spacious sun deck and Jacuzzi. Her interior is no less impressive, with a timeless and elegant décor and all furnishings designed by Studio Ipso. You will be well looked after by the captain and crew of 15 who are friendly, attentive and extremely knowledgeable.

SUNDAY was my standout choice of yacht, and she promises guests a truly memorable, refined and luxurious charter experience.
