Nothing short of spectacular, the Monaco Yacht Show once again put on a memorable display in introducing the next generation of yachting. TJB team members, Tim Johnson, Advait Deodhar and James Kilbourn were all in attendance.

These debut yachts weren’t just about aesthetics, they also boasted cutting-edge technology that made cruising a breeze. From advanced navigation systems to eco-friendly propulsion options, these vessels showcased the industry’s commitment to a sustainable and immersive yachting experience.

The iconic Port Hercule welcomed a total of 117 vessels. Astonishingly, 45 of these luxury yachts were newly constructed in 2023, while 16 others were either launched or refitted in 2022. According to show statistics, 61 yachts showcased were less than two years old, constituting a significant 52% of the entire fleet.

The event boasted a diverse lineup, ensuring a wide selection of new builds, charter options, and brokerage vessels. Alongside these magnificent superyachts, 61 luxury tenders were exhibited, including two extraordinary submarines.

ADVENTURE

This year the “Adventure Area” returned to join the Yacht Deign & Innovation Hub and Sustainability Hub. Appealing to adventure enthusiasts and thrill-seekers, this exhibition showcased innovative equipment designed to push the boundaries of experiential yacht charters beyond the realm of superyachts and tenders.

Whilst the water toys on display were a testament to the festival’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of marine leisure, the area also featured 30 cars and motorcycles, as well as two helicopters, creating an immersive experience for all visitors.

SUSTAINABILITY

At TJB we care about our oceans and work with the Blue Marine Foundation to help minimize the impact on our oceans. This year, Monaco confirmed that yacht shows have become a place to inspire positive change and that sustainable yachting and environmental awareness in the industry are attainable.

As the spotlight on sustainability and environmentally conscious initiatives continues to shine, we are delighted to observe an increasing number of yachts embracing green technology and adopting a collective commitment to responsible yachting practices.

Whether this be through stands showcasing greener products, a seminar educating the industry, or simply reusable water bottles and biodegradable business cards – the attempts to deliver a greener show year on year are coming into effect slowly but surely.

ELEVATING THE VISITORS’ EXPERIENCE

In this year’s edition, the organisers focused not only on showcasing an elite selection of yachts, but also on creating an environment for learning, sharing, and discovery. This vision was successfully delivered with an enhanced program tailored for VIP attendees, featuring exclusive entrances and the re-appearance of the Sapphire Programme; an initiative specifically catering to prospective charter and sales clients.

The event showcased a diverse range of participants, including shipyards, brokers, designers, naval architects, and service providers. A total of 560 carefully curated exhibitors displayed their new products, latest innovations, and recent projects. Furthermore, 28 industry conferences were held over the course of four days, offering an ideal platform for attendees to engage with industry leaders and specialists, discussing various topics of interest.

BROKERS’ CHOICE

KENSHO, 75M ADMIRAL

For Charter Broker, Advait Deodhar, trailblazer of the yachting world KENSHO, which debuted at MYS 2022, caught Advait’s undivided attention this year.

“By challenging naval tradition, KENSHO’s interior designer, Jouin Manku, has done a stellar job. The quality of finishes, unique style and interior is incredible. The layout is totally different to any other yacht on the market right now. She is a masterpiece of design, whereby photographs don’t do her justice.”

SEANNA, 65M Benetti

SEANNA, 65M BENETTI

SEANNA dominated the Monaco Yacht Show this year for James Kilbourn, Charter Broker.

“With a massive interior volume, this Benetti feels far larger than a 65m vessel. Following a 2021 refurb, she sports serious style and high-quality finishes across the whole interior and exterior. Inspiring relaxation is her spa with two massage beds, whilst an experienced crew ensure guests are entertained for hours with a vast selection of water toys.”
