Far Out is a contemporary classic yacht designed for sailing, conceived and fashioned to be durable, rapid and prepared for the most challenging ocean conditions. This yacht is the seventh installment of the popular Southern Wind 72 mini-series, which was handed over in 1999 and has consistently received enhancements and refurbishments. Since 2014, it has been under its current proprietorship, whose owner has transitioned to a bigger SWS yacht and is now interested in transferring Far Out's guardianship to its forthcoming owner.
Located in Valencia and open to inspection by scheduled visits.

HULL & APPENDAGES
Construction
The hull is built on a female mould in composite sandwich with Kevlar reinforcement
External skin: outer skin Kevlar and E-Glass

Topsides are painted in flag blue Awlgrip paint with snow white cove and boot stripes (2009)

The fixed fin/bulb keel is composed of an upper steel fin section and lower bulb section

Rudder
The single elliptical spade rudder is produced by SWS and composed of carbon fibre pre-preg skins on a closed cell polyurethane foam core. Carbon fibre rudder shaft is supported by two self-aligning bearings from JP3.
Steering Systems
Steering pedestal fitted in cockpit with roller bearings and carbon fibre instrument bracket and stainless-steel compass mounting bracket
One 1500mm diameter wheel with teak trim and stainless-steel spokes/hub
Steering cables run over sheaves with high load bearings fixed on aluminium brackets.
